New! Local Arts Bursary
Matoto now offers a bursary program to arts students in the Southern Vancouver Island area. Applications must be accepted through organisations who wish to make the bursary available to one of their students. For example:
- A student or potential student who seeks assistance in attending classes
- A member artist (professional or otherwise) of an Arts Council or similar, seeking assistance
- An intercultural organization (member or group) under-taking an arts-based project
Individuals may receive up to $300 to be used to further their education / expression through an approved organisation (i.e. the funds go to the organisation).

School in Kubian – Guinea
Together, with MoonDance Dynamic Arts School and private donors, over $17,000 has been raised to go towards the building of a school in small village in Guinea called Kubian. At the moment, no school exists for the local children. When construction is complete, we hope to raise funds to assist with the teacher’s salary and bursaries for the children. We are thrilled to say that we raised over $11,000 during our TEN DAYS event in 2009! Learn more about the school project.
